The Levels
It is Newport’s dirty secret – a failed urban housing development, standing in the shadows of the city, left to ruin by the authorities decades before. Now overrun by Newport’s homeless population and controlled by the all-encompassing and untouchable Sorrow, it’s the last place you would choose to go.
For three people though, the decision has been made.
Ghost – one of Sorrow’s drug-addicted, teenage assassins, the Furies. She has finally escaped Sorrow but getting out of the Levels itself is something else entirely.
Nathan Turner – ex-CIA operative. A man has been found murdered at his home. Now everyone thinks Turner’s dead, but he’s headed for the Levels, in search of answers.
Kate Friedman – a suspended cop with only days to live. Attacked and infected by a vicious serial killer, the Beast, Kate must track him down for the cure before it’s too late. And there’s every chance he’s lurking in the Levels…
Now, as their lives collide in this dark, feral, lawless place, it’s anyone’s guess if they’ll find what they’re looking for. Or if anyone will make it out alive…
