Hello, I’m John “Sean Cregan” Rickards and this is a sort of placeholder introduction while I get this front page sorted out. If you can still see it, I’m still sorting it.
And yes, I’m aware it’s taking a while. I half expect this page to become an ever-edited single post explaining why I’ve been too busy working/scratching my arse/slumped, drooling, over a table to ever finish whatever it was I was intending to do here.
And since I’m not sure I can even remember what I initially had in mind, that might take a while.
If you’ve come here by horrible, horrible mistake, I write most recently as Sean Cregan (THE LEVELS and THE RAZOR GATE for Headline UK), and used to write under my real name of John Rickards (WINTER’S END, THE TOUCH OF GHOSTS, THE DARKNESS INSIDE and BURIAL GROUND for Penguin UK). I’m neither Sean Cregan the antifascist protestor/prisoner or Irish sportsman or Canadian neuroscientist, nor am I John Rickards the second governor of Montana (1893-1897).
You can find my blog at namelesshorror.com and buy some books at my store.
Hi Is this the family name, Cregan? I think that this was our great grandfathers name? Bye the way loved the books!
Hi Lynne,
No, it’s a pen name, not the family name – not for a few generations anyway. My great-great-(great-?)granddad was either a murderer or a bigamist, as I understand it, and plucked my real surname from thin air when he upped sticks with his family (minus his either dead or non-divorced first wife) and moved from Birmingham to London. Long-lost family secret as to which it was, sadly, so I’ll never know the answer.
